Yard Sale, Ninja cookies and a Star Wars cake

It’s Columbus Day, when we celebrate the beginning of the land theft that we call these great United States. Do you feel all tingly with national pride? I know I do.

Despite the oddity of this day, I can report a lovely weekend at our house. Charlie’s family was here to celebrate the birthdays of Charlie and his sister. We had a nice visit, although his sister seems to be allergic to us. She totally lost her voice while she was here. I can assure you, had the family voted, she is not the one who would have been speechless.

Before they got here on Friday, we wrapped Jackson’s turn as Child of the Week, and I totally scored at a yard sale.  You really can’t beat three days like that…not even with a stick.

Yard sale find. It's totally disco-licious. Now I just have to figure out what color to paint or re-stain it.

Ninjago ninja cookies

Jackson got to take his favorite snack on Friday: ninja cookies.

Ninjago water bottles

Because everything that isn’t nailed down must have a theme, I found Ninjago water bottle labels on Etsy.

Star Wars cake

Star Wars cake to celebrate Charlie and Aunt Becky’s birthday.

Thanks to Kelli Marks at Sweet Love for the baking. She makes me look good.

For those who’ve asked: source for the Ninjago water bottle labels.
